Minute 1 - Time is not your most valuable asset.
People often say your most valuable asset is time. It's true that time is an elusive quality that can be wasted, killed, or invested in.
But time is not your most valuable asset; it's focus.
If you're pushing your kid on a park swing but your mind is focused on a conversation you had with your boss or some big project looming in the distance, you're not in the park. You're in the office.
This is why focus is more important than time. You can fake spending your time well, but you can't fake focus.
You are where your mind is focused the most.
Minute 2 - Best advice from Star Wars.
Qui Gon’s tragic advice to Anakin,
“Always remember, your focus determines your reality.”
It’s a shame how things shook out for Anakin; he constantly saw the negative, the drawbacks, the setbacks, all the wrongs, and how someone slighted him.
He saw none of the light.
Minute 3 - Jesus is not glorified by unhappy, exhausted people.
Do you know why Jesus had time for people? Because he made time.
We are perhaps the most emotionally exhausted, psychologically overworked, and spiritually malnourished people in human history. Jesus is not glorified by unhappy, exhausted people.
Join me this month in learning to rest.
For February, we are going to eliminate social media from our Sunday routine. From Saturday, when you fall asleep, to Monday, when you wake up, I challenge you not to use social media.
24 hours to choose something else. 24 hours to rest.
